Access to the Small Business Deduction (SBD) is changing. 

These major changes, which are now law, will significantly affect the availability of the SBD for many corporations whose fiscal year commenced March 22, 2016 or later.

Action will need to be taken now in many cases.

The changes are broad and can impact numerous typical structures, which would not commonly be associated with multiplying access to the SBD.

Consider Jim’s plumbing company which provides services to the largest general contractor in town. His estranged brother obtains a share in the general contractor through an employee stock option plan. Jim’s company may no longer be eligible for the SBD.
