Access to the Small Business Deduction (SBD) is changing.

These major changes, which are now law, will significantly affect the availability of the SBD for many corporations whose fiscal year commenced March 22, 2016 or later.

Action will need to be taken now in many cases.

The changes are broad and can impact numerous typical structures, which would not commonly be associated with multiplying access to the SBD.

Consider Jim’s plumbing company which provides services to the largest general contractor in town. His estranged brother obtains a share in the general contractor through an employee stock option plan. Jim’s company may no longer be eligible for the SBD.

Video Tax News has carefully analyzed the proposed legislation and presented it to 1,000s of accounting professionals across Canada. As such, speakers, Hugh Neilson FCPA, FCA, TEP, Joseph R. Devaney CPA, CA and Caitlin L. Butler CPA, CA have an in depth understanding of the various situations and types of taxpayers that will be impacted, along with the technical and practical questions that many firms will encounter.

With their combination of experience and extensive knowledge of Canadian Tax, you can be confident that this 2.5-hour session will be of exceptional value to you and your firm.

Is this course required if I attended "Tax Update 2016" or "Small Business Deduction Changes, 1st Edition"?

This course is an updated and extended version of the material discussed in  "Tax Update 2016" and "Small Business Deduction Changes, 1st Edition."  An additional hour of video has been added.

If you attended either of these courses, consider registering for the 1-hour update at the reduced price of $89/registrant.

The update video considers the revised Schedule 7 and T2.  In addition, we will have a general conversation about various strategies that have been proposed in the industry to address the changes, such as the use of: a central business corporation; a business trust; a cost-sharing arrangement and multiple partnerships providing services.

Click here to register for the 1-hour update only. You will need you confirmation code from your original registration to register.  If you can't find it, contact 1.877.438.2057 and we will look it up for you.

(This abbreviated version is available only to those who attended either of the above courses.)

I love the format and that you can access them for a week. Excellent job!!!!
